On Monday afternoon, the Canadian Premier League (CPL) revealed new kits for each of the leagues’ eight clubs ahead of the 2021 season beginning in Winnipeg, Manitoba on June 26, 2021.
As is the norm in the sport, this announcement revealed the HFX Wanderers new kit ahead of a new season.

“Inspired by the Flag of Nova Scotia, that features a Lion Rampant crest in the centre. HFX’s 2021 Macron jersey features a sublimated Lion Rampant on the front that symbolizes strength, courage, and leadership – like the unique individuals who call Nova Scotia home. The predominantly Aqua Ocean Blue top features the classic Harbour Sky and white colours throughout. The club’s slogan, “Together X From Aways” is boldly centred on the jersey’s back.” – shopwanderers.ca

LOOKING BACK…
The Halifax-based club has sported the harbour blue, naval grey and aqua ocean combination in some very unique ways since their inception.

In 2019, the Wanderers rocked two shades of blue as their home and away with the Volkswagen sponsor and designed by Macron.
The kits had subtle patterns featuring the Halifax Citadel, waves representing the Atlantic Ocean and you could feel the soul of the province in the details.

In 2020, Halifax wore one of the most incredible kits featuring sound waves from the famous Barrett’s Privateers by Stan Rogers.
The home kit had a gradient look to it, mixing the dark and light blue. The unique design took notice around the world.

The 2020 “away” kits on the island were part of a league wide campaign where each club wore black with a unique design on relative to their home.
In the case of Halifax, the Angus L. Macdonald Bridge was the obvious choice as a noticeable landmark in the city.
